Understand key terms
Look up key terms and distinguish related concepts such as bookings, tickets, punch cards and subscriptions.
You can look up these terms without signing in.
Course and occurrence
A course describes the offering. An occurrence is one scheduled session with start, end and places. A recurring series contains individual dates booked separately.
Booking option
A booking option defines how an eligible course can be paid for or booked using an existing entitlement. Examples include single admission, a punch card and a subscription.
Punch card and subscription
A punch card contains credits with their own validity. A subscription is a recurring agreement with usage terms. Neither automatically reserves all matching dates when purchased.
The three limits
Course capacity: people per occurrence. Visit limit: allowed subscription bookings per usage period. Sales cap: limited acquisition of an option. Always check which limit is meant.
| Limit | Applies to |
|---|---|
| Course capacity | Places in a particular session |
| Subscription visit limit | Course-subscription usage in the relevant period |
| Sales limit | Sales of a booking option |
Approval and booking
Approval allows access to a restricted option. Only a subsequent booking with fulfilled requirements confirms a place. Payment and ticket availability are checked separately.
